At nineteen I went to California
To Dawson at mile zero
To the center of the Rockies
To the Pacifying Ocean

In ninety-eight I left
The company of higher vision
For two years I walked the land
Felt the earth trembling beneath

I have been a stranger in a stranger land
Therefore, I will return to Africa
These here know neither knowledge or spirit
Heed the message of Egypt, O Canada

I will bring tubers and horses
Houses, scientists and seed trees
Food for the body and soul
Jah remnant of Thy True Knowledge

For we’ve tasted the apple
Yet not even found that worthy
As a child I ate dozens of varieties
from Waldale and Fishers farms

Now what do them feed their kids?
When even righteous men
Find pure food scarce
and Truth scarcer still.
