European photovoltaic solar cell producer Q Cells said today that the company is planning to significantly expand its cell production capacity. To facilitate this, the company wants to go public in October, 2005.
Last year, Q-Cells manufactured 76 Megawatts of solar cells, up from 9 Megawatts three years earlier. At the moment the German company runs three solar cell manufacturing plants. "In addition, we are currently building the largest European solar cell factory," said CFO Hartmut Schuening.
