If humans and other large mammals are to survive the 21st Century and thrive in the 22nd Century, and I believe we can, then building-integrated photovoltaics, geothermal heating / cooling and other elements of sustainable architecture will become core to the effort. In my new job with a Toronto-area architectural rendering company, I experience the pleasure of looking at architect websites on a regular basis, and green building design is increasingly a part of their business.
In my new blog 21st Century Architecture, I look at how transforming building design from a masculine, penis-like template to a more environmentally-integrated, feminine archetype, is the key to both aesthetic and functional progress.
