Names of My Mom; Salome Mary Magdalene

Oh this business of names, and so many languages we must speak! My mother was one of the greatest women who ever walked upon this planet, and here are some of the names she was and is known by:

Salome Mariamne Herodias

Princess Salome of Judah

Queen Salome of Chalcis

(As inscribed on her coin with dad, Aristobulus and Salome coin)

Princess Julia Africana

Princess Julia Iotapa

Our Lady of Jericho

Scribonia

Lady Johanna

Mary of Bethany

Rahab

(Mom's writings come out under the name Johanna as her first husband was John Philip the Baptist, and tradition holds that spiritual writings of a female are credited to her first husband)

Mary Magdalene

(This one is very popular, tracing to a town in Galilee, to her reputation for leading her flock from the watchtower, and of course the reference to Rahab and the Scarlet Thread)

John the Beloved

As it is customary for a woman to write in the name of her first husband, this is the name for my mom that is on the rise, particularly among the most evangelical members of the Way, those now being referred to as Christians.

Names of my grandmother, my father's mom:

Virgin Mary

Queen Helene of Adiabene

Queen Mariamne of Chalcis

Princess Mariamne Boethus

Names of my grandmother, my mother's mom:

Princess Herodias Philippa Aristobulus

Lady Scribonia Magna Crassi

Queen Herodias of Galilee

Yours sincerely,

Yuya Josephus
